DIY or Use a Service Company
"Sanitary waste is a controlled waste and must be manged to the point of disposal"
Do it yourself is not really an option for sanitary waste as it is a blood product and staff must be protected from potential health risks.
Service company operatives will have training, innoculations against hepatitis B.

| Can't towels simply be flushed down the loo? |
Flushing sanitary towels down the toilet can block drains, either yours or further down the line.
Also even if it didn't block the drains it would end up polluting the environment.
The Water Industries Act 1991 states that no items should be flushed that could cause a blockage within a sewer or a drain.

| But what about waste produced from home? |
Sanitary waste from home is exempt from regulations as no other people are likely to come into contact with the waste other than yourself.
| Who can remove waste? |
Only an authorised waste removal company can take waste away from your premises. These companies have to be registered with the Environment Agency for the appropriate waste classifications.
A service company has the responsibility of taking your waste all the way to a final point of disposal.
